Blocked footpath styles

We received this from a reader of TOL:-

springer

"I often walk my dog round the many public footpaths in Tarvin at the weekends and am quite disheartened by how many have barbed wire or are in such a bad state that it is impossible to get a dog through or over them. One of the worst is the one that leads from the bypass through the fields near Austin's hill . I know a lot of farmers don't like dog walkers on their land but it really is quite annoying when we have a springer spaniel and have to turn back as we can't get him over or through the styles .
That said I still enjoy bringing my dog to Tarvin for walks .
Just wanted to share our experience so others are aware "

You can report things like overgrown footpaths/obstructions online: https://www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/residents/transport-and-roads/public-rights-of-way/public-rights-of-way.aspx I've found them very thorough and quick to investigate.

Rivers may seem to be permanent features of the landscape though this is a relative matter in historical terms. Flowing across different rock types conditions the course of a river. A river such as the Gowy does not pass through the school geography stages of youthful, mature and old age. Its course is dominated by a low gradient producing a meandering journey across a shallow, virtually...

Ten years ago, Jim Grogan was looking to have the woodland measured against a standard, to gain an independent view of what was being achieved and what improvements might be recommended. He discovered the Green Flag scheme that is operated by Keep Britain Tidy on behalf of the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government. The scheme recognises and rewards well managed parks and green...
