Chester Station Upgrades for Passengers

If you haven't been to Chester Station in a while, next time you go, you may get quite a pleasant surprise... Transport for Wales has invested heavily in its refurbishment and improvement of customer facilities. The majority of the work has now been completed. Improvements completed to date include:

• A new and extended entry ticket gate line
• New CCTV system
• New customer information screens
• Additional ticket machines
• Roaming mics and hearing loop systems
• Quiet room
• New platform and concourse seating
• Refurbished toilets and a new changing place toilet
• New water refill point
• Cycle shelter upgrades
• New poster cases, signage and branding
• New recycling and refuse bins

The next major step is to complete the installation of the new ticket desk on the main concourse and passenger assistance help point. Due to environmental challenges, the space has had to be entirely redesigned, and if the required listed building consent is granted, it will be delivered this year.
