Each year, during the month of May, churches all over England take part in Christian Aid week. This is a week of fund raising events to help those in need in all parts of the world.
In Tarvin our two churches: St Andrew's and Tarvin Methodist Church will be holding a Quiz evening and hot pot supper on Thursday 19th May at the Methodist church in the High Street. Entry is free but if you can, we ask you to make a donation at the door. All the money collected will go to help people in need, including those living precarious lives in flooded areas of Bangladesh.
During next week – from the 15th to the 21st May – look out for the red Christian Aid envelopes dropping through your letter boxes as our volunteers do their annual house to house collection. Christian Aid is given a special licence to collect from homes through Christian Aid week.
To celebrate this great week we've decorated both our churches with banners, bunting and balloons and we'll be launching the week with a' bring and buy' lunch at St Andrew's starting at 12:15 pm. Everyone is welcome to join us. The lunch is free but we would like you to donate whatever you can to our fund raising.
If you would like to help us during Christian Aid week, please email Jo Richards at jinks1107@aol.com or ring either 01829 741474 or 07545255680.'
