Co-op Local Community Fund -- King George V Playing Field

The Co-op Local Community Fund supports projects across the UK. Every time a Co-op member buys selected Co-op branded products and services, 2p for every pound spent goes to the member and the same amount is also given to a selected community organisation/local cause.

We are pleased to share that the King George V Playing Field has recently been selected as a community organisation/local cause that can be supported by Co-op members. The funding period runs for one year and will close on 19th October 2024. Every cause has their own dedicated page on the Co-op website and app. The King George V Playing Field is a registered charity (charity number: 1083973) and are raising funds through the scheme to buy a "Happy to Chat" bench. The bench will have a sign which reads 'Sit here if you don't mind someone stopping to say hello'. It is designed to help combat loneliness and encourage community interaction.
