Community Centre Neighbours Next Door

The 'other half' of the Community Centre building has had new occupants since August 2023. Older residents will remember this building as being the Infant School and then Cheshire West and Chester Council offices housing some Children's Services. Today, part of the NHS that occupies the space.

The Centre is now a base for the Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust's Vaccination and Living Well Service. For many residents, especially older ones, this is the place to go for the Covid vaccine. Sometimes it is hard to remember just how frightening it was in the early days of the pandemic. When a safe vaccine was produced and a rapid, national roll-out was organised, some protection against a severe bout of illness became available. The Centre had administered about 250,000 vaccinations since it opened.

As well as the winter vaccines such as Covid and Flu, the Centre offers the opportunity for people of any age to catch up on immunisations they may have missed. If you have a query about this issue, please contact the Centre on the number below.

Alongside this, the service also offers health screenings, providing checks of blood pressure, cholesterol, screening for diabetes and providing advice and support on lifestyle issues. The service is delivered by nurses using three outreach buses which travel daily across Cheshire and Merseyside, returning staff to the base each night.
