Residents who live on Cross Lanes/ Broomheath Lane i.e., the road between the A51 and Ryecroft Lane, leading to Waverton, are being consulted by Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWaC) about changing the speed limit to 50mph. They are also proposing 20mph for Austins Hill.
The Parish Council (PC) had been consulted some time ago about Cross Lanes and Broomheath Lane and their view was, and remains, that the Broomheath Lane part should be no more than 40mph, ideally lower. However, CWaC are following national guidelines which appear to give no discretion for local circumstances.
The proposal for Austins Hill, given the nature of the road, a short cul-de-sac, seemed to the PC a complete waste of time and money.
The PC encourages all residents who are consulted regarding the above to respond to CWaC.
