The Community Centre is delighted to be able to welcome the Deva Dance festival on the weekends of Jan 22nd/23rd and Jan 29th/30th. The organisers are delighted to be able to hold this regular event after last year's Festival was cancelled and are coming to Tarvin for the first time.
The Dance Festival celebrates the dancing talents of young people between the ages of 4 and 18. Representing their dance schools, they compete in a number of classes including Ballet, Tap. Modern(Jazz), National, Character and Song and Dance. Performances are judged and the competitions go on throughout the four days. On the last day, over 16's compete for a chance to go on to a larger dance event at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool in June.
Vice Chair Sue Hardacre said " We are so pleased that we can welcome so many young people and their supporters to the Centre and hope that they have a great time. All the rooms will be in use and the technical resources will be used to the full. The new stage, which was renovated last year, will get a wonderful workout."
There may be many in the village who would love to see these talented young people perform and the organisers would be delighted to welcome anyone who would like to come along and enjoy the spectacle. Tickets cost £7 (£5 for concessions) and to find out what will be on when, contact Carol at carol.wild@btinternet.com
