Are your onions round or flat? Do they weigh more than a half-a-pound (in avoirdupois) or are they lighter than that? Perhaps you have one that's really huge? Instead, are your onions actually shallots, destined for pickling? Perhaps your shallots are larger than that? Instead of growing onions, perhaps you've been growing leeks? All of these different vegetables have classes for them at Tarvin Horticultural Show.

There are also classes for cucumbers, courgettes and vegetable marrows, as well as for peas, broad beans, French beans and runner beans. Do you have Tarvin's longest runner bean? If, so, get your entry in, pronto! What about the root veg – carrots, potatoes and beetroot? There are classes for them, too – and for the other veg that are really fruits – the tomatoes, peppers, aubergines and chillies. All of these "Vegetables" can be shown at Tarvin Horticultural Show.

Tarvin's is a local neighbourhood show, with all the competition being friendly and people being acclaimed for their successes (large or small). No entry would ever be considered foolish. We just want to see – and to admire – what you have succeeded in growing during this difficult year.

All entries must all be received through email or paper entry form by the Show Secretary, Ian Levitt, before 5pm on Friday, 12th August.

All exhibits must be displayed before 11am on the morning of Saturday, 13th August, with all the judging being completed by 2pm.

Everyone is then welcome to come to the Community Centre between 2pm and 3.30pm to view the exhibits. The presentation of Trophies will be made at 3.30pm.

Adults pay £2 for admission but children accompanying their parent or guardian will be admitted free of charge. As ever, refreshments will be served in the Edna Rose Room.

Copies of the schedule and entry forms can be obtained by emailing
tgs.show.2022@btinternet.com.

If paper copies of the schedule are required, then just drop a line to Ian Levitt
at 2, Field Close, Tarvin. CH3 8DL.
