Local Lady, Diane Lloyd acquired a small plot of land in Tarporley a year ago, and although she already had a job as a lecturer at Liverpool John Moores University, she set about restoring the land to grow flowers.. The land was very overgrown and all of her family and friends helped her to begin a restoration project.
Diane is a flower fanatic and decided to start to grow her own flowers for cutting. Initially, she gave these away to friends and family but a friend persuaded her to do a few local small markets such as Tarporley market where they proved to be really popular. Now Diane has set up her own small business "Lloydsflowerfarm". All of the flowers are grown naturally without pesticides. She has been surprised by how long the growing season for flowers is and has managed to grow flowers from April to November. Tarporley farmers market is on monthly and people have been asking if they could buy them more often.
Diane has recently set up a link with our own Tarvin High Street Gift Shop "Little Angels" who are honoured to be able to offer these beautiful arrangements and wreaths of locally grown flowers. "Little Angels" owner Carolyn Vieria stocks a range of gifts from local suppliers and this seems as though it will be a blooming great partnership.
