Chester based charity Minerva Arts will be coming to Tarvin this summer to run a day of drama activities for ages 11-18 at Tarvin Community Centre.

On Thursday 24th August from 10am until 3pm young people are invited to come along and spend the day working with a professional practitioner, exploring a variety of theatre forms from using theatre masks to devising.

This project has been funded by UK Youth, the largest national body for the youth sector and is completely free to attend.

Hollie Wimpenny the Youth Theatre Manager said 'We are all very excited to be coming to Tarvin this summer, offering more creative opportunities to young people in the area. This workshop is suitable for all abilities whether you are just beginning or a theatre expert, everyone is welcome'

Minerva Arts offers young people the opportunity to learn and explore different styles of performance, specialising in contemporary theatre. They focus on building creativity, confidence and creating a safe space for young people to flourish.

Minerva Arts already run two successful youth theatres in Chester and one in Malpas and it is planned that more opportunities will be offered in Tarvin in the future.

Booking is essential as there are limited places available, for more information about the drama masterclass and to book a place please email youththeatre@minervaarts.com or check out their website

The Community Centre has recently renovated some card tables and would love them to be used on a regular basis. Years ago, whist drives were a very popular and regular feature in the live of the Community Centre and card tables were purchased to enable this. However, the popularity of whist waned over the years, and the tables got pushed further and further back under the stage, dusty, neglected...
