Exciting Shows for the Autumn

The Community Centre is delighted to announce the two professional theatre shows on offer this autumn from Cheshire Rural Touring Arts.

Sue Hardacre, who acts as a promoters for the scheme says "The first show is a double bill of comedy on Friday October 5th at 7.30 pm. Three talented young actors who are the Last Chance Saloon Theatre Company will take us on two thrilling journeys. The first is Sherlock Holmes and the Blue Carbuncle and the company say:
"We know what you're asking: What is a Blue Carbuncle? Well, we're not exactly sure but what we do know was that it was stolen from Meghan Markle on her wedding day and only one person can solve the mystery of 'whodunnit'! "

Join Sherlock and his trusty sidekick as they travel from 221B Baker Street through Victorian London (and Waitrose) to a mysterious farm in chase of the evil mastermind. Have Holmes and Watson finally met their match? Find out in this shamelessly high-octane spoof of Sherlock Holmes and the Blue Carbuncle.
With twisted pop songs, an assortment of ridiculous characters and more slapstick British comedy than a Butlins holiday camp, you're in for a wild and raucous ride!"

With this mystery out of the way there is a rapid costume change and the three come back after the interval to solve the Curse of the Mummy with Montana Jones, a Nazi spy and a love-sick mummy. Expect laughter, music and slap-stick in this monster mash-up. The show has played at the Edinburgh Festival and the company says:

"Using both outrageously catchy pop songs and obscure 80s ballads even your mum won't have heard of, Last Chance Saloon take you on a whirlwind adventure. For one hour, 3 men will play over 100 characters, with at least 3 different accents. You'll see them dance, you'll see them cry, you'll see things you wish you could un-see.
With good old fashioned British humour and an intriguing interpretation of world history, the Saloon Boys will have you laughing your lungs out, crying out for more and wondering why they don't all have modelling contracts."

On Friday 2nd November at 6.00pm, our younger audience members and their families will be able to enjoy a very traditional tale. The Snow Queen weaves a magical story of friendship, deception, courage and love with music and images suitable for younger children. Tutti Frutti Company, based in Leeds, are specialists in creating and staging one-hour shows to delight children from about 3 to 7/8 years old. Sue Says " This is the first children's show for some time (the last one was cancelled at the last minute) so I do hope that families will come along with their little ones to enjoy live theatre"
