From the Tarvin Woodland Trust ...
Recently, the high winds during the early morning on Friday 23rd August brought down a limb of a sycamore tree, not far from the Hockenhull Lane entrance to the Woodland.
A regular user of the Woodland quickly alerted the Trustees to the fallen branch, which was a hazard since it had become lodged in an Oak tree on the opposite side of the path. Trustees considered the job too risky for our volunteers to tackle and so a Tree Surgeon was contacted.
Fortuitously, when Josh Seviour of the Cheshire Tree Company was contacted, he was working in Broomheath Lane and was able to inspect the damage within a short space of time! It was agreed that during that afternoon he would pull down the large over hanging branch and cut it up to sizes that volunteers could clear. Once this had been done, the condition of an adjacent limb of the sycamore tree was considered, and it was felt that this, also, was in a weak condition and should be removed. Josh returned on Saturday morning to complete the task.
So, within 24 hours of the incident, the Woodland Path was once again completely safe to use. Our grateful thanks go to who were involved for their prompt actions.
