The speaker at our March meeting was Gail Shearer, a Chester tour guide who spoke with great knowledge and enthusiasm about "Women Who Founded, Defended and Helped Shape the City of Chester.
Romans, Politicians, Suffragettes, Shop keepers, a Racing Driver and of course, St Werburgh all played their role in shaping our City as we know it today.
This was a most interesting and informative talk enjoyed by everyone who attended. Thank you Gail for a great evening.
Following Gail's talk, there was time for chat and to catch up with friends and enjoy the refreshments in a very relaxed atmosphere. Thank you Mary for the very popular home made biscuits .
Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday April 5thin the Parish Room at 7pm when our speaker will be Douglas Walters with his talk entitled"Three Friends"
