The Community Centre Committee is delighted – and extremely excited – to announce the return of Friday Film Night. On Friday May 28th at 8.00pm there will be a showing of Ammonite, the 2020 film based on the life of Victorian fossil hunter Mary Anning. The film stars Kate Winslet and Saoisre Ronan, and is an absorbing drama, beautifully shot on Dorset's Jurassic Coast. The doors will be open from 7.30pm.
There will however be some changes to our normal way of running things;
Jane Armstrong, who now looks after the film shows, said "We are all stepping slowly into a more normal life and the Committee is keen to encourage the resumption of our usual activities. We believe that we have taken the right steps to ensure that people will feel safe enough to enjoy the sheer pleasure of watching something with others. A sense of community is what we want to create".
The Committee is hoping it will not be too long before it can restart the popular 6.00pm show for younger audiences but understand that it is not so easy to get youngsters to still still. But there are some great children's films due to be released and they will be offering some of these as soon as the guidance permits.
