The Critic is a gripping tale of ambition, deceit, and survival in the cutthroat world of 1930s theatre.

London, 1936: Fascism looms as the Blackshirts take to the streets, and anti-queer police raids escalate. Jimmy (McKellen), a razor-sharp critic known for his devastating reviews, faces dismissal from his editor David (Mark Strong), who disapproves of both his florid prose and his private life. In a desperate bid to secure his position, Jimmy weaves a dangerous web involving aspiring actress Nina (Arterton) and his editor's vulnerabilities.

With a screenplay by Patrick Marber (Notes on a Scandal) and direction by Anand Tucker (Hilary and Jackie), this taut thriller features an all-star cast including Lesley Manville, Ben Barnes, and Romola Garai.

Don't miss this unforgettable evening of drama and suspense!
