It's been a very hectic and exciting time at Tarvin Methodist Church this week in preparation for the indoor Christmas Market.
In spite of the cold weather a constant flow of families and children came to enjoy everything on offer . A warm festive atmosphere with a great variety of stalls , hot dogs and beef burgers as well as mince pies, tea and coffee and of course Sue's homemade hot punch. (Recipe below)
Outside, the very popular stall selling freshly cooked pancakes was very popular and thanks go to the Christmas market pancake crew who in spite of the cold weather did a fantastic job .
A surprise visit from our local PCSO James bearing gifts to keep us safe this Christmas was also welcomed .
We also welcomed our regular holiday makers from North Carolina, Delana and Howard who timed their holiday this year in Tarvin especially to visit the Christmas market.
Upstairs were more stalls, Christmas crafts and the very important Santa's Grotto.
Father Christmas helped by the very hard working Mummy Christmas had a constant queue of visitors waiting to meet them and whisper their hopes for presents at Christmas. I can assure you he promised them everything if they are good!
This turned out to be a most successful village event enjoyed by many people. Our thanks to everyone involved in any way who worked so hard to make this event happen and also to everyone who braved the weather to come and support the Christmas Market.
A message from Tarvin Christmas Market group:
The Christmas Market team are very grateful for the support of the Tarvin Methodist Church who enabled a Christmas fair to go ahead despite not being able to run a Street market this year due to retirement of three vital committee members that we could not replace in time to enable the street market to take place.
We are pleased to report that several people came forward to volunteer to help run the market in 2024.
