The George Heath Foundation - Thank you

Home » Newsroom » The George Heath Foundation - Thank you

On behalf of The George Heath Foundation we would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who responded to our Facebook request for items of furniture, household necessaries, and baby clothes and equipment on Friday.

We have previously donated thermal items and sleeping bags to one of the homelessness charities "Chance Changing Lives". By coincidence, we dropped off items that had been donated to the GHF on Thursday 3rd January in response to our appeal just before Christmas for warm clothing — and while we there, Natasha Maroni, the Chance charity founder, mentioned that they had been able to successfully home a young woman who is expecting a baby and that their next mission would be to furnish her home.

The response from the GHF Facebook post was phenomenal (and extremely humbling) and so, we hired a van on Saturday and went to collect as much of the larger donated items as we could. The result, after two journeys in our hired large van, was that we had delivered...a fridge freezer, a washing machine, a microwave, a sofa and a sofa bed, wardrobes, a television, storage cabinets, a large bean bag, a cot, a pushchair, a high chair, a travel cot, a car seat, baby bath, moses basket, lots of clothes and toys.....and, in true Generation Game style) a very large cuddly toy! (and I'm sure that there were many other things too!)

Thank you so much for all of your donations and offers — "J" was overwhelmed — she didn't think that people did "nice" things!
