Going to Greece on Holiday?

Local MP Antoinette Sandbach sought reassurances for holidaymakers and businesses affected by the situation in Greece.

Speaking in Foreign Office Questions on the 14th July- Antoinette Sandbach MP sought reassurances from the Foreign Office on behalf of constituents who may have booked holidays to Greece.

The Minister for Europe- David Lidington- responded, saying that the Foreign Office have spent a lot of time preparing contingency plans to help both Cheshire business interests and tourists from Cheshire should it ever be necessary.

Antoinette said:
"It's good to see that at the moment it looks like Cheshire tourists in Greece and Cheshire businesses are unaffected by the situation in Greece, but that the Foreign Office have contingency plans in place should anything change. The Government is standing by ready to offer advice, so if any constituents in Eddisbury are affected by events in Greece, they should contact my office who will be able to assist them.
