Oscroft Rubish 2

" 30 volunteers aged between 5 (thank you Joseph) and mid 70s turned out for the annual litter pick in Tarvin and Oscroft. The Parish Council thank you all.

Overall there was a slight improvement on previous years but still over 30 bags were filled. The worst area was the A54 from Stamford Bridge to Shay Lane. Sacks were collected from around Tarvin and taken to the Community Centre. Also taken there was heavier stuff including old "for Sale" signs, various bits of cars and a crushed metal supermarket basket.

The weather was kind, although the wind was keen which made handling the bags when they were not very full tricky, of course they were not empty for long.

I hope all residents appreciate the efforts of the volunteers. We should all be very proud of them and of our wonderful community.

Ted Lush

Chairman Tarvin Parish Council and coordinator of the pick. "
