thank you

Tarvin Online has been quiet for a couple of days whilst our Webteam spent time with our families and probably ate too much chocolate.

The Webteam at TarvinOnLine would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2024. Christmas is the ideal time to say a huge THANK YOU to our loyal band of contributors, without whom TarvinOnline would surely not be still going. Also a debt of gratitude must go to Tarvin Parish Council for their financial support. Our Web hosts ,Then Media have been a great source of support too so we take this opportunity to say thanks to them too.

TarvinOnLine started in June 2013. We are proud that after 10 years, it is still going, and with a new regular editor we are fit for the future. The website started as a direct result of the parish plan questionnaire which made it very clear that the residents of Tarvin wanted to be better informed about events taking place in the village. We have stayed strong to our original core aims, when we started out in 2013.

  • To be a place where residents of Tarvin can find out what is going on in the village.
  • Provide existing and new residents with a hub of useful information about the village.
  • To publicise local events
  • To report on local events and issues that we feel are of interest to Tarvin residents
  • To support local businesses and organisations, allowing free publicity and promotion
  • To remain as unbiased and neutral as possible
  • To promote sustainability and the wellbeing of residents and nature within our community

A few things have changed (As well as our small band of editors):

  • We are making more use of Facebook as a platform. Many readers use Facebookas their main way of accessing TarvinOnLine
  • Instead of simply posting a link which soon disappears from our Facebook feed, we are. now putting the full article on Facebook.
  • We have updated the look and feel of the site in recent years and have updated the directories. (If you spot any out of date entries on the directories, please let us know)

In order to do all this, the event organisers, local businesses and organisations kindly send us copy and images, giving a reasonable amount of notice which we then edit and create an article.

We would love to have more residents, businesses, clubs and societies sending in copy and images that we can publish on TarvinOnline. The more voices we have on the site the better! If you do send copy for an article, around 200 words is enough but we don't limit this.
Ideally, Images should be in landscape format if possible.

Thanks once again to all our contributors and supporters. we simply would not exist without you!

Happy Christmas and here's to 2024!
