As many of us rush about preparing for Christmas, it can seem so obvious to wish everyone a "Happy" Christmas and New year... "Have a good one", as my colleague called as he left the office on his last day.

But for many, Christmas can be a particularly difficult time of year. At a time when the whole family often get together, the pain of missing a loved one who is no longer with them is so much stronger.

Those who care for a relative can find Christmas even more of a challenge than at other times. For those who are lonely, seeing others gathering together can make that loneliness all the harder to bear.

For those in recovery from addiction, the holidays can be particularly challenging as others around them enjoy the excesses of the festive season.

We may feel that we are "supposed" to be happy at Christmas and New year... but It's okay not to be okay and there are many services that can offer free help and support. All the services in this link from Cheshire West & Chester council can be contacted free of charge ....

IT'S OK TO BE NOT OK

These services are staffed over the festive period. The link provides a wealth of local services that those in need may find useful. If you, or anyone you know is struggling this festive season, do forward this link.
