MUSIC AT ST ANDREW'S.
An enthusiastic audience greeted Musical Director Michael Reynolds, when last Friday, 8th July, he presented both St Andrew's Church Choir and Tarvin Youth Choir for their annual summer concert in St Andrew's Church.
Unfortunately, due a clash in dates, the Youth Choir were somewhat depleted, but Phoebe Liddiard, Lily Wright, Annabel Thorp, Ella Probin and Oliver Liddiard, stole the show with their performance, both as a quintet, and also joining the adult choir in many of the items.

On their own they gave us Jess Glynne's "Hold my Hand", Mary Donnelly's "We are the Young" and a medley from Aladdin, including "Whole New World". Senior Chorister Annabel Thorp had the audience with lumps in their throats with her solo rendition of "When she loved Me" from Toy Story 2.

St Andrew's Church Choir performed the traditional Scottish folk song "O Waly Waly", "Where do we go from here", a song composed and written by Val Whitlock and Shirley Court, the ever popular Mozart's "Jubilate Deo", and a beautiful song entitled "A New Commandment" written by Peter Nardone.

Mary Evans, accompanied by Jo Marshall, delighted us with Ralph Vaughan Williams "Linden Lea", and Kate Slack gave us the ever popular "I dreamed a dream" from" Les Miserables"

An unusual, but thought provoking solo from Martin Slack was "Rollicum Rorum". This is from a Thomas Hardy poem set to music by Gerald Finzi.

The joint choirs had started the programme with "Chattanooga Choo Choo", and had the audience foot tapping with the final medley of Beetles music, "Yesterday", " Octopus's Garden.", 8 days a week" and "All you need is love"

A great evening of music, showing just how lucky we are in Tarvin to have so much talent.
