In July 1994 everything was blooming in the Tarvin Primary School since the foundation of their conservation area.
A grant from the Countryside Commission and Manweb resulted on nearly 600 trees and shrubs being planted. A pond, flower meadow and a butterfly garden had also been created.
Making notes of the flora and fauna were pupils Keith Tiplady, Natalie Briscoe, both nine, Caroline Bell, 10, Stephen Tindle, 9, Kate McGimpsey, 8, Gemma Redley, Simon Phillips, and Peter Shallcross, all 9.
