A large dark van was parked in the Community Centre at the weekend (July 8th) and electronic sounds issued from it for about an hour. Secret Service surveillance? No, the latest in birthday party treat-a video game party!

Sue Hardcare, who was opening the Centre on Saturday said " In my years being connected to the Community Centre I have seen many wonderful children's parties with lots of different kinds of entertainment offered. There have been bouncy castles of every shape and size, sports parties, science parties, magic parties and even 'creepie crawlie' parties. But this was the first time that a gaming bus was here and from the feed back from the young people, it would appear to have been a great success."

This facility is offered by a local company called TechTruck and for further details do go to www.techtruck.co.uk. This will give all the information of a wide range of activities for both children and adults, including prices.

Sue said " As an extra bonus, with the children engaged in the truck for most of the party, this also seemed to provide a relatively stress-free time for the adults".

For children's parties large and small, do consider the Community Centre. There are two excellent spaces, the Hall and Edna Rose Room, a fully equipped kitchen, adequate tables and chairs and good parking. For more information or to book, contact bookings@tarvincommunitycentre.org or go to the website www.tarvincommunitycentre.org

Ed: Just to emphasize that Sue has no connection with the company. The photograph of the children was provided by TeckTruck and does not show the individuals at the party on Saturday.
