Both Keith and Rachel have been shielding for covid 19, Rachael, due to asthma and Keith, because in January this year, he needed to have an aortic heart valve fitted at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.

Keith and Rachael were so impressed by the treatment and care that he received at the LHCH that they decided to find a way they could say a proper thank you to their NHS heroes. "I was so impressed by the team of surgeons, doctors, nurses and staff; I felt completely at ease; It was all so professional." said Keith. As you can imagine, it was a tough time for Rachael, too. Not only would any wife be worried when her husband is undergoing open heart surgery, but having to do all the jobs Keith usually does on the nursery as well as her own huge list of jobs while Keith was in hospital and during his convalescence, ...not just caring for and lifting the bare root roses, but also making sure all the animals are fed and safe. Keith says, "Rachael knew I was in the best hands and suggested to name a new rose to say thank you to all at the LHCH."

They have continued to sell roses by mail order throughout the lockdown and they allow local customers to telephone or email orders and collect from the nursery by appointment to save on postage.
