Tarvin babies and toddler playgroup has for many years provided a warm welcome to all mums, dads, grandparents and carers to its friendly, weekly sessions...

Tarvin Toddlers Group has been running at the Tarvin Community Centre for many years every Friday in term time 10.00 – 11.30am (and a few years ago every Monday too) from the Community centre by volunteer parents. It has been a great way to connect and network with other parents, grandparents and carers of our little ones. Parents and carers can have a chat and a drink whilst the children play and do craft activities. Refreshments can also be provided for the children. All in the large, spacious room at the Community centre!

They are now looking for a new team to head this up. Over the pandemic, our current teams children have now all started school so a new team will be needed. Frankie will be able to show you the ropes.

Previously, the way it has been run is that volunteer parents turn up about fifteen to twenty minutes before the session to boil water for hot drinks and get the toys and craft equipment out. While the kids play with the lovely toys and equipment already stores at the community centre, drinks and snacks for carers and children can be prepared in the kitchen. However, for the new volunteers, how you run the group is up to you!

Up until 2020, the cost was £2 per session per family to cover the cost of refreshments and stationery or craft materials.

Contact Frankie Elliott on 07513 793124 if you are interested in running the group. Ideally more than one person makes it easier to manage.

Ed: I ran Tarvin Toddlers group when my kids were little. It was really good fun for the kids and I and a great way to get to know other parents of kids the same age as mine, especially as we were relative newcomers to Tarvin.
