Guest organist at St Andrew's Church next Friday 28th February will be Benjamin Chewter, Assistant Director of Music at Chester Cathedral, where he is responsible for the accompaniment of daily services, broadcasts, tours and recordings with the Cathedral Choir.
Educated at Christ's Hospital School, he has held Organ Scholarships at Canterbury Cathedral , Emmanuel College Cambridge, and Westminster Abbey, and before his appointment in Chester was assistant organist at Lincoln cathedral for 3 years.
As well as recitals in many of our cathedrals, Benjamin appears regularly as an organist for the BBC Daily Service on Radio 4, and has performed extensively throughout the UK and abroad.
2014 will see him with Chester Cathedral Nave Choir performing the Mozart Requiem, and recitals at St Asaph, Coventry, and Hildersham (Germany) Cathedrals.
