What does Tarvin Community Centre have in common with the Mercury Theatre Colchester, Phoenix Theatre Exeter, the New Wimbledon Studio London, The Theatre by the Lake Keswick , the Stephen Joseph Theatre Scarborough and 11 other mid-sized, regional commercial theatres? All of these and Tarvin Community Centre are venues on the spring tour for "The Shoddy Detective, the Art of Deception". This really is a coup for Tarvin CC.

Jane Grahame, Arts Coordinator for Tarvin Community Centre said "Two of the company were doing tech support for Atom & Luna(an earlier CRTA production) and we just got chatting. They were mightily impressed with the venue and our facilities, so we kept in touch, and they agreed to come and perform for us as well while on their tour. We are absolutely delighted to have them".

The performance is on this Wednesday, 17th May at 7.30pm. with doors open from 7.00pm. The bar will be open as well. Tickets are just £12 (£10 for under 16's) and can be bought at: www.ticketsource.co.uk/tarvincommunitycentre or at Tarvin Post Office. They will also be available on the door.

The play is a comedy with 4 actors playing many parts and tells of the theft of a priceless painting and the hilarious pursuit of the culprits. One revue called it "wholly endearing and good clean fun" while another reviewer said "shoddy by name but not shoddy by nature". It promises to leave you laughing and give you a midweek boost.

Tarvin Community Centre prides itself on offering a wide range of theatre performances but needs the support of the community to keep driving forward. Do come along and support both the company and the Community Centre and prove that Tarvin can confidently compete with big venues. The more we support these shows, the more great acts we are likely to attract.
