The Parish Council has agreed to hold a public meeting on Wednesday 28th January to discuss in greater depth the possibility of undertaking a Neighbourhood Plan.

The time and venue will be confirmed in a flyer (see below) and then with a further article on Tarvinonline

Experts from Cheshire Community Action will be present and it is hoped to invite a representative of Tattenhall Parish Council, who were one of the first parishes in the county to produce such a plan. Their Neighbourhood Plan is now recognised as an approved planning document and must be taken into account when planning decisions are taken.

To ensure that all members of the public have the opportunity to come along, a leaflet will be produced and delivered to all households in the New Year.

The Parish Council hope that the meeting will achieve a number of objectives.
It is hoped it will:

  • Indicate a level of demand for a Neighbourhood Plan
  • Identify local people willing to participate, especially those who would be willing to join a Steering Group
  • Bring the reality of the production and delivery of a Neighbourhood Plan to a wider public.

The Parish Council must be a part of such a Plan, but do not have the resources to do it on their own. They have already received support from the Tarvin Civic Trust and sincerely hope there are other individuals or organisations that will step forward for without this support a Neighbourhood Plan cannot be achieved.
