Horticulturalist, Rachael Gilham (Now Jones) took a top prize this week, 27 years ago in 1995, at the Yorkshire Flower show.
At the time, Rachael lived in Llay, but was a partner with Keith Jones at the Golden Fields Nursery in Barrow Lane. In those days,, Rachael and Keith were well known for creating cottage garden displays for which they earned many awards, the first of which was a silver at the BBC Gardener's world show at the NEC in Birmingham.
Rachael and Keith married in 2004 and these days, Rachael just grows perennials for fun. She and and Keith run C and K Jones Roses from Golden Fields Nursery. They are internationally renown rose growers. They sell over 550 varieties of roses, mostly via their website, jonestherose.co.uk but also attend several shows where Rachael's creative flair and Keith's meticulous attention to detail have won them many awards for their displays..
Ed: Ah, Rachael, you haven't changed a bit!
