Refurbishment Work Completed

The work to improve the car park and paths in the Playing Field has been completed and the area is now open again for business. Though the closure caused a small amount of disruption to some, the results will be much appreciated by regular users. The removal of the potholes and puddles on the car park in particular is very welcome.

The money to complete the works came from funds made available by the developer Seddons when permission was granted to complete the housing at Millside Close. Called a 106 agreement, it was negotiated between the developer and the planning authority to help mitigate and/or reduce the impact on the existing community.
Residents might like to consider that, given the current pressures on local authority spending, such agreements are one way of getting much needed new, infrastructure investment.
