REMINDER LOOMING DEADLINE: GREEN BELT CONCERNS

The most recent Chester West and Chester (CWaC) Local Plan covers how much development is needed, potential sites for development, sustainability, infrastructure, environment and transport. Your views and concerns can be made regarding this plan either online or via a series of public consultations being run by CWaC from Friday, July 4th to Friday, August 29th, 2025. Please note that Tarvin is located on the very outside edge of the greenbelt shown on the accompanying map.

There is not much time left to consult this voluminous plan if you have not already done so.

However, an easy and quick route for citizens at this very late stage is to respond by sending an e-mail to: planningpolicy@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk

Make sure you provide your name and contact details and state clearly that you are referring to issue SS 11 which specifically relates to Housing Needs and the Green Belt.

In this plan, "the suggested policy approach is that CWaC plans to deliver a minimum of 1,914 new homes each year, over the plan period"(see map, click on map to enlarge).

CWaC has devised three growth options for where development could be located, that would mean updating Local Plan (Part One) policy STRAT 2.

The three initial options for growth that CWaC has identified are as follows:

Option A – Retain the Green Belt

Option B – Follow current Local Plan level and distribution of development (see map)

Option C – Sustainable transport corridors

If you decide to respond and register your concerns you must choose one of these options as your preferred choice and state this clearly in your e-mail. The choice is YOURS to make. You have up to Midnight Friday, August 29th, 2025.
