School Transport Policy

At the Open Forum, where members of the public can raise any issue they wish, Borough Councillor John Leather said that a Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWaC) Scrutiny Committee had, a few months ago, asked a working group to review school transport policy.
He had raised issues with the working group, which had taken evidence from the public and would be making recommendations soon. Any change in policy would not happen until after the elections on 2 May.

This is an important issue for residents of Tarvin parish whose children attend or may in future attend Tarporley High School because currently parents are charged for school transport. The PC thinks this is unfair and has tried to get the charge removed or reduced.
