St. Andews Women's Group – Nov. Meeting Report

Thank You Douglas & Barbara

We were very fortunate to welcome Douglas Gruffydd-Walters as the speaker for our November, 2nd., meeting. A Welsh poet and raconteur who was born and lived in Llandudno, he entertained and kept us hanging on every word as he described his childhood and upbringing in North Wales.

He described to us the life and influence of his mother and many aspects of Welsh life in what was then a very rural area. Assisted by his wife Barbara, Douglas illustrated scenes with his own poetry and played various pieces of Welsh music and song.

Thankyou Douglas and Barbara for a most inspiring and humorous evening. The evening concluded with refreshments including , as usual, Mairi's home baked biscuits.

Our next meeting will be our Christmas lunch at the Bluebell, Wednesday December 7th.
