St Andrews Women's Group October Meeting Report

At our October meeting we were privileged to welcome as our speakers, Cathy Pettingale CEO and founder of the Chester based KidsBank and her assistant Katy Knott.

Cathy was inspired to found this charity after a programme highlighting the deprivation and hardship suffered by many families with young children. By providing practical help with clothes, baby equipment and household items they are able to support many families who may be having temporary difficulties or are homeless. Families are referred to Kidsbank from Social Services or other charities.

We were able to present to them our gifts of home made knitted blankets and baby clothes all made by friends in our group and also by our staunch supporters in the village.

Thankyou Cathy and Katy for an inspirational and informative evening and for all the work carried out by Kidsbank.

Tea, coffee and Mairi's homemade shortbread and lemon cake were served and appreciated by us all.

Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday November 1st at 7pm in the Parish room of St Andrews Church.
