Another very sociable and entertaining evening for the St Andrews Women's Group when we welcomed our speaker Mrs Betty Hayhurst who is an antique dealer. With a table full of antiques and collectables and a vast assortment of objects brought along by the audience she was able to take us through the secrets and techniques of collecting and buying at antique and collector fairs. She was able to tell us the history of some of our own objects and whether they really were as valuable as we all thought.
Her valuable hints will make sure we do our best to pick up a bargain when next we visit one of these fairs.
A very knowledgeable and entertaining speaker who kept us enthralled and then during refreshment time encouraged us to bring our items to show her and learn more about them. Another record turn out for the group and one we all enjoyed.
Our grateful thanks to Mrs Hayhurst for entertaining us so well.
Our next meeting is on Wednesday June 5th when our speaker will be Mrs Janet Appleby and her subject is " Cheshire Ice Cream Farm".
A warm welcome and more, awaits anyone who would like to come along to this open meeting at 7.30 in the Parish Room. Admission including refreshments still only £2.00
