ST ANDREWS WOMEN'S GROUP
Our first meeting of 2026 was thought-provoking, informative, and entertaining.
HANNAH SWETTENHAM of the Chester branch of FRIENDS OF THE EARTH is a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable speaker who told us of the aims and actions of FRIENDS OF THE EARTH, in Chester.
Some of which was completely new to us.Locally, their team of volunteers work with Christ Church and Newtown Residents Association to bring greener spaces to the area. Monthly gardening sessions are held with local residents to plant up and maintain gardens in areas previousy neglected .
Another very successful project is their REPAIR CAFE , a pop up event where the local community can get their broken household items repaired for free or for a small donation. Typical repairs are small electrical items, clothes, toys and bikes. All saved from the bin and thus helping to save the planet.Their next event will be held on Saturday 21st June Hoole Community Centre 10.30 – 12.30More information can be found on the website.
