Although Cheshire escaped the worst effects of Storm Dave over the Easter Weekend, SP Energy Networks has issued some safety advice for those affected by damaging storms.

SP Energy Networks is a Distribution and Transmission Network Operator which keeps electricity flowing to homes and businesses throughout Central and Southern Scotland, North Wales, Merseyside, Cheshire and North Shropshire.

Safety Advice for Communities:

  • If anyone is experiencing a power cut, please call 105, it s free, available 24/7, and connects directly to your local electricity network operator.
  • Stay well clear of any damaged or fallen power lines, as they may remain live or become live again without warning. Please report any hazards immediately by calling 105.
  • For customers who experience outages overnight, our customer service teams can offer overnight accommodation, and for those still without supply, hot breakfasts can be provided. Anyone needing customer support should call 105.
  • Do not attempt to remove debris, branches, or fallen trees from power lines or substations, our specialist teams will manage this safely.
  • Check on vulnerable neighbors, and signpost anyone who may benefit from extra support to our Priority Services Register.
