We really are on countdown now to the 6th December and hopefully everything is in place so here is the latest update.
The event will be opened at 5.00 pm by Councillor Hugo Deynem, the Deputy Lord Mayor of Chester and one of Tarvin's Borough Councillors.
A new feature this year is the foodcourt which will be in The Red Lion car park where a Hog Roast is being supplied and served by The Travelling Pig Company.
They will also be selling beefburgers and sausages. Other stalls will be serving Belgian waffles, pancakes and hot chestnuts. In addition to the hot food available, there will also be the opportunity to buy luxury pies, pates, locally produced honey and chocolate, Greek olive oil and cakes.
If you are short on ideas for Christmas presents, there will be stalls selling Christmas produce and crafts. You will also be able to test your skills or trust your luck on a variety of games including a chocolate tombola, always a favourite with the youngsters and possibly some adults! And please don't forget the raffle. Many local shops, pubs and restaurants will also be open.
Father Christmas has promised to make a special trip to Tarvin arriving just after the opening of the Market, and children are invited to welcome him and walk with him to Santa's Grotto.
Musical entertainment is being provided by the Sue Reid Trio, comprising Sue Reid, vocalist, Malcolm Hogarth, piano, and Isobel Toner, bass, contributing to the fun of the evening. The Church Youth Choir will also be singing in the Methodist Church.
More stalls and activities for the children will be found in the Methodist Church. There will be the possibility of making cards, painting pottery and watching the very popular puppet nativity shows during the evening. In addition there will be a craft and a cake stall. Whilst there, you can take the opportunity to help with the judging of the children's art competition. Mulled punch will also be served alongside tea and coffee.
The Market will provide entertainment for everyone and a great family atmosphere so do come and join us.
