Tarvin Christmas Festival and Market has been given a cash boost, thanks to a donation from developer Taylor Wimpey.

The homebuilder has sponsored this year's chocolate tombola and will have a stall at the festival, which takes place on Saturday 6th December between 5pm and 9pm on Tarvin High Street.

Lyn Hillier, Chairman of Tarvin Christmas Festival comments: "Christmas is the perfect opportunity to bring the whole community together and what better way to do it than with a festival.

"The festival features a variety of craft and food stalls; in addition to a Santa's Grotto and musical entertainment. Our aim is to bring the community together as well as to support Tarvin's high street and increase footfall to the area which will inevitably benefit local businesses; so it's great to have support from companies like Taylor Wimpey."

In addition to the traditional food and craft stalls, Tarvin Christmas Festival and Market also offers local organisations a platform to showcase their work.

Stuart Craig, sales manager at Taylor Wimpey North West comments: "We understand that festivals of this type can be costly to run and with our Saxon Heath development now taking shape right in the heart of the village, we jumped at the chance to get involved.

"It's clear that this is a key date in Tarvin's social calendar – and we can't wait to get involved in the festivities."

Taylor Wimpey is currently building a selection of three and four bedroom homes at its Saxon Heath development on Tarporley Road.

Lyn concludes: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank Taylor Wimpey for their generous support, as without help from such companies the festival just wouldn't be possible."
