TARVIN COMMUNITY CENTRE CHRISTMAS QUIZ

The deadline has passed, the papers have been marked and I am delighted to announce that this year there are three joint winners, all with full marks -- it would be invidious to try to separate them so I have not attempted to do so. This year's quiz was very successful with around 120 copies sold, of which 27 were returned, which I think is the best ever response rate. They came from as far afield as Gloucestershire and Kent -- but it is a pleasure to note that all the winners this year are Tarvin residents, and they are:

Prizes this year have been generously donated by C & K Jones and PlanB Writing and will be delivered to the winners very shortly. As a result, and thanks also to the people who when buying a quiz were good enough to add a donation, Community Centre funds have benefited by around £145.

As in previous years, thanks are due to Walk Mill Bakery, Margaret Dixon and Bryan Evans for selling copies, and this year for the first time also to Tarvin Post Office. I have had a lot of compliments about the quiz this year, which is nice -- but if any of you think you could do a better job next year, please let me know! If you think you got all the answers right but are not among the winners, I should add that there were quite a number of "almost perfect" answers -- but the quiz setter's decision is final
