Tarvin History Revealed – Cheque In

In December 1996, Laura Menzies, 17, of Tarvin was the chair of the School Council at Tarporley High School and is seen in the photograph presenting a cheque for around £500 to Chris Holmes, Director of Shelter, at the homelessness conference. The money was raised by a rock concert at the school organised by School Council member Ian Landford, 15, of Tarporley and school rock band Peebode members Andrew Terry, 15. of Kelsall and Joe Armstrong, 16, from Tarvin.

In addition to Peebode there were two other bands, Barcode and Igoy, involved in the November concert and in the second photograph Laura is shown surrounded by members from the three bands.
