Another dip into Tarvin History Groups' scrapbooks of July 1986 reveals an article featuring local resident Charles Bradley, well known in Tarvin, not least for his beard!
As you can see from the pictures, Charles had his 17 year old beard shaved off for charity!
Science Teacher at Christleton High School, Charles, charged pupils 25p each to witness Carol Taylor (left) and Elsa Brennon (right) shave off his beard but the hall was still packed!
The money raised over £100 went to the NSPCC.
