In November 1994, Tarvin Parish Council was celebrating its Centenary. In addition to a special service held at St Andrew's Church, there was painting contest for youngsters and an exhibition of local photographs and parish records.
The top photograph shows Parish Council chairman, Edna Rose, and her colleague Eric Plenderleith, who was also a member of the Chester City Council, taking a look around the celebration exhibition in the Community Centre.
The book "Reflections of Tarvin" that Edna and Eric were looking at was published for the centenary by the Local History Group, whose chairman, Margaret Dixon, is shown in the lower picture examining a copy of the latest volume of Tarvin pictures – past and present.
Ed: Copies of "Reflections of Tarvin" are still available in the Post Office.
