In July 1994, three-year-old Zara Welch from Tarvin won first prize at the Cheshire Show with her guinea pig Sampson. Sampson won first prize in his category and Zara was awarded a silver goblet.

Zara's sister, Hannah, gained a first prize at the Cheshire Show the year before with one of her rabbits.
