Margaret Dixon and Barry Page, formerly of the Tarvin History Society, kept a stack of scrapbooks documenting Tarvin news and events in various newspapers. The scrapbooks have kindly been offered to Tarvin Online to use, allowing us to share memories of Tarvin with Tarvin residents.

As the Tarvin fete would have been around this time of year, we felt it was timely to offer this reminder of a Happy fete day in 1995 – Can you believe this is 30 years ago!

Comedy was the theme for the 1995 Tarvin Carnival. Bobo the clown opened the event, performing magic tricks for children while crowds of onlookers were entertained by balloon maker Mr Balloonatic and stilt walker Professor Crump. In the main arena, comic trampolinists Wax and Wain performed.

A host of other attractions, including floats and displays, made for another successful year of this popular event, raising over £1700 in aid of the upkeep of the Scout and guide hut.
