Tarvin lady raises funds for Parkinson's disease charity

A Tarvin lady has raised an amazing £575 for Parkinson's Disease after hosting a "Garden Gathering".

A lovely sunny afternoon meant that it was a fantastic event with the opportunity not only for tea and cake, but also the option for Prosecco was also on offer!

Many of Rachel's friends had donated simply beautiful cakes, and a raffle was also held with some fantastic prizes! The "left over" cakes were also sold at Airbus, and so we're sure that productivity was even greater than normal!

A truly remarkable achievement resulting in much needed funds for an amazing charity that, over the past 5 decades, has funded groundbreaking research and provided support to thousands of people with Parkinson's across the UK.

What the money can be used on:
£40 – could pay for a month of nutrients to grow brain cells in the lab for research, helping find new and better treatments for Parkinson's.
£125 – could fund a clinical researcher for a day, allowing new Parkinson's treatments to be tested and better diagnostic techniques to be developed.
£600 – could fund a MRI brain scan for an hour, to help our researchers learn more about the Parkinson's brain.
