The draft Tarvin Neighbourhood Plan is now being independently examined. So far, the Inspector has asked a number of questions about some of the proposals in the Plan. These include:

  • the relationship between the Neighbourhood Plan area and the Tarvin Parish Council area (the Plan area is smaller than the Parish Council area because of boundary changes which took place after work on the Plan had started)
  • why the Plan defines acceptable small-scale housing development outside the settlement boundary as fewer than 6 units (this is because recent applications for developments of fewer than 6 dwellings, e.g. on Holme Street and in Oscroft, have not provoked opposition, whereas larger proposed developments e.g. east of Tarporley Road and off Crossfields, have generated a good deal of concern)

Questions have also been asked about the site identified for future recreation facilities, local green spaces, and the extension of the Community Woodland. When the formal response to the questions has been forwarded to the Inspector it will be added to the Cheshire West and Chester Council website. The Examiners Letter is already there.
The easiest way to find it is probably via a link on the Parish Council website (Heading Your Parish, then click on Neighbourhood Planning). Once on the CWaC website "Examiner's letter – Procedural Matters and Questions – 15 March 2019" is near the top of the page.
