On a miserable Saturday, May 15th, a grand array of plants for sale was presented at the homes of Heather Exell and Jacqui Bradley. For many months, Heather and Jacqui had worked really hard and given many hours to bring the various plants and vegetables to a great condition. From Church Cottages and Andrew's Close the stock flew off the shelves and, yet again, this important event in the village calendar was a great success. Most of the plants were sold but, if you missed your chance, there will still be some plants for sale at the Village Fete on Saturday, July 3rd.
It had been agreed that this year, after costs were covered, the profits from sale of plants would be donated to Tarvin Methodist Church (TMC) to help overcome its Covid- 19 financial problems. As a result, £1,250 will be given to TMC.
In addition, the Bradleys provided refreshments, with donations to TMC. Donations of £150 were made to the Woodland Trust. Thank you to all the volunteers from the Trust who prepared the plants for sale and to the community of Tarvin that supported the event.
With luck, things will be back to normal in 2022 with the sale being held at TMC in aid of the Trust together with the usual hot and cold refreshments in aid of TMC.
