On 17 June Tarvin Tennis Club will be holding a dinner in the Community Centre to celebrate the current Club's 50th anniversary. The event will also celebrate the Club's vastly improved facilities which, courtesy of a generous grant from Sport England and an anonymous benefactor, saw the construction of a new clubhouse and the installation of floodlights during 2016.
The Club is also organising an Open Afternoon on 17 June when there will be an opportunity for local people and visitors to both come and see for themselves and sample the new facilities with some refreshment being provided. More details of the event will be circulated in the next few weeks but the focus will be on involving more young people in tennis.
Tickets for the evening event, which will include live music, will be on sale shortly and we are genuinely hoping to fill the Community Centre to make it a memorable occasion. Not only do we hope current members will attend but in Tarvin and the surrounding villages are many people who are former members of the Club and we hope that they will want to participate and mark an important milestone in the Club's history.
More information can be obtained from Rob Millar – robandjoantarvin@hotmail.co.uk – or by visiting the Club's website.
The Club is keen to make 17 June a day to remember.
